The NDIS provides funding for home modifications depending on the reasons for the modifications. If a participant has rooms in their house that are not easily accessed by them or their carers, the participant may be eligible for home modifications that allow easier access, as long as the modifications are being made in their primary place of residence.
If the participants home is impacting the longevity and sustainability of the participants living and care arrangements, this too can be cause to home modify to ensure the participants place is safe and functional.
The NDIS may also provide funding if a qualified Occupational Therapist has assessed the premises and deemed that it requires home modifications and that other alternatives, such as equipment, will not suffice.
